Head Over Heels is proud to be a sponsor of the Tanner B. Race in Weymouth. The race will take place on September 19, 2015.
Tanner Barbara was an energetic, fun-loving 8 year old boy who was taken away suddenly and unexpectedly in September of 2012. He was a gymnast, a football player, an overall athlete, and the best friend of one of our own gymnasts.
Tanner’s friends and family established this race to keep his legacy alive. The inaugural Tanner B. 5k race took place on September 21, 2013. Proceeds from the race go to various charities and programs in Weymouth.
National Gymnastics Day is September 19, 2015, and we will be celebrating with a SPECIAL 2 HOUR Open Gym!
NGD was created by USA Gymnastics to promote our wonderful sport and raise awareness about the benefits of gymnastics. This year’s theme is “Show Your Salute”. USAG is encouraging gymnasts to post photos of their NGD activities and gymnastics ‘salute’ to Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter using hashtag #NGD2015. The most creative pics will be awarded prizes such as autographed memorabilia, Nastia Liukin leotards and USA Gymnastics sponsor product! (Prizes awarded by USA Gymnastics, NOT Head Over Heels.)
Open Gym will be held from 5-7 pm and will include TONS of gymnastics, a Popsicle break, and plenty of opportunities to “Show Your Salute”! Kids will be allowed to bring their phones, iPods, and other devices into the gym to try to come up with the most creative photos!* They will also have the opportunity to become local celebrities on our website and social media pages by sharing their photos with us… So fun!
Members and non-members are welcome at this event. Members are encouraged to bring a friend who has never tried gymnastics beforehand! All guests must have a parent-signed guest form in order to participate.

A HUGE congratulations to all of the 2015 State and Regional Champions from Head Over Heels! Our State Champions performed better than ANY OTHER gymnast in the state in their level and age division. Our Regional Champions performed better than any other gymnast in Region 6 (New York, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Massachusetts). These are huge accomplishments and we are so proud of these athletes!
Congratulations to Sarah Murphy, who is the 2015 Region 6 Gymnastics Level 9 Balance Beam and Floor Champion! Sarah also took 2nd Place in the All-Around competition.
Region 6 is made up of all of the gymnasts in New York, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Massachusetts. The Regional Championships were held April 19, 2015.
Sarah is a Junior Olympic Team Member at Head Over Heels Gymnastics in Norwell, where she has been taking lessons and training since she was a preschooler. She is a junior at Norwell High School and also works as an assistant teacher at Head Over Heels.
Sarah’s scores and placement at Regionals qualified her to the Level 9 Eastern National Championships in Kissimmee, Florida. Nationals will be held May 8-10, 2015. If you see Sarah, be sure to wish her GOOD LUCK!
Head Over Heels is proud to be a sponsor of the 3rd Annual Calle’s Miracle Run. The run is a memorial race in honor of Calle Cronk, a little girl from Norwell and former Head Over Heels gymnast who lost her battle to an inoperable brain tumor (DIPG) in 2013.
Calle’s Family created the Hope for Caroline Foundation to support other DIPG families and provide funding for further research to help find a cure. This race is one of their largest fundraising events.
Head Over Heels will have runners as well as volunteers at the race. We would love to see some of our customers come and support the Cronk family/Hope for Caroline foundation by running and/or donating.
The resources below provide more information about Calle, the Hope for Caroline Foundation, and Calle’s Miracle Run.
