What is it?
Each year, Head Over Heels holds a fundraiser to benefit a local charity. We try to choose charities that are not very well known and are not likely to receive many large donations. This year, we will be donating to The JBB Project, Inc., "Joey's Blood Buddies" (www.joeysbloodbuddies.org).

When is it?
The cartwheel-a-thon will be held during regular classes at Head Over Heels the week of February 4-9, 2008. If you are absent the week of the cartwheel-a-thon, you can do your cartwheels the week you come back! Fundraising will go on all month.

How does it work?
Each child will be given a pledge sheet during their gymnastics class. The pledge sheet will be used to record and keep track of donations. Gymnasts will be asked to collect pledges and donations from friends, family members, neighbors, teachers, etc, over the upcoming weeks. and return them to the office at Head Over Heels. The top fund raisers will receive special prizes after the Cartwheel-A-Thon is over.

What are the cartwheels all about?
During their class, gymnasts will be given 30 seconds to perform as many cartwheels as possible. Donators may pledge a certain amount of money per cartwheel completed, or just give a flat rate. Don't worry - if you can't do a cartwheel yet, forward rolls are fine!
